His burial entry on Hayfield St. Matthew's Parish register reads: -
George Rangeley "Died awfully sudden at Chapel en le Frith when in act stooping down to take a bag of flour
on his back to carry it to his cart."
Gravestone:
George is buried with his wife Martha, daughter Sarah and grandson Moses.
Their gravestone is set into the pavement outside St Matthew's church, Hayfield Derbys. It reads: -

23rd 1839 AGED 77 YEARS.

Notes from "History of Hayfield" by Houghton:
On Easter Sunday 1819 the crowd was immense. Hayfield Church rebuilding was finished,
rebuilt (except the tower) by the inhabitants. The total cost was £2,458. George RANGELEY contributed sand,
leading and limestone to the value of £18.
