No. 2107 Thomas Noel attested for the 1st Battalion 25th Foot (Kings Own Borderers) at the age of 22 years, becoming a Private from 21st May 1844 to 31st January 1848, then being appointed Drummer on 1st February 1848. His pay was 1d per diem, rising to 2d, then 3d as a result of good conduct in 1864. He was discharged on 19th August 1865 at the age of 43.
He was 5 ft 7 in tall, with a fresh complexion, had grey eyes, brown hair, and no marks or scars. He was never wounded.
He was in possession of three good conduct badges and also of the medal for "Long Service and Good Conduct".
